Mission statement

The Portland Peace Choir strives to exemplify the principles of equality, justice, peace, unity and cooperation.  We sing music from diverse cultures and traditions to inspire peace in ourselves, our families, our communities, our nation and the world.  The Portland Peace Choir welcomes all voices.

All we need is YOU

What does it take to join? Your joy to rehearse every week. Your excitement to perform 3-4 times a year in churches, prisons, nursing homes, farmers markets. We’d like some of you to serve on one of our committees: music selection, performance, library, recruitment, social, or finance.  $20 per month or $150 for the entire year (nine months, Labor Day until Memorial Day, at least 30 rehearsals).  Scholarships available.

When and where?

Every Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) at 5915 SE Division Street (next to Steiner Storehouse) starting September 9, 2009.  Come sing songs that lift your spirit and inspire peace in your heart and around the world.
